Injection Molding

The thermoplastic manufacturing process of molding plastic parts is sometimes called injection molding.

During the injection molding process, a plastic pellet is plasticized (heated) in an extruder to a melt and then forced into a steel mold under high pressure. With the typical process of injection molding, nearly all thermoplastic resins, e.g. ABS, PP, PE, PVC, PC, PA, PS etc. can be processed.

The two main advantages of this process is that the part can be molded in color and in high annual volumes with very short cycle times. To manufacture injection molded parts, the wall-sections of the part must be uniform in design.

Thieme produces plastic parts with the RRIM PUR process. Due to close cooperation with network partners, manufacturing in injection molding as well as other molding processes are possible. With Thieme, there is the ability to select the best-suited production method for each part. With our central in-house painting facility, uniform and top-quality surfaces can be achieved. Sub assembly of the individual parts and accessories for a complete part system can also be executed by Thieme.
