Apart from its outstanding design properties, polyurethane is also resistant to corrosion and chemicals, offers a high abrasion resistance as well as sound and heat insulation, and its surface can be painted and printed. Polyurethane materials are created through reactive multi-component systems. During the processing of these polyurethane systems, the two liquid components - polyol and isocyanate - are combined and then cure in an exothermal reaction. This process is commonly known as "RIM" - Reaction Injection Molding. To guarantee maximum quality and professionalism in the development of polyurethane parts, THIEME supports its customers through the entire project sequence - from initial discussions on design and production right through to final assembly. |

We use Baydur® 110 to produce molded parts with walls nearly as thin as those made of thermoplastics parts. Despite the thin walls, parts made of Baydur® 110 can be extremely large with a total surface area of several m²! The homogeneous structure of the molded material contributes to the high impact strength of RIM parts. More information |

Baydur® GS is a polyurethane processed by casting for parts that are to withstand high mechanical and chemical stressing. Wherever cast parts in aluminum, zinc and steel, etc. are used today, it is worthwhile including Baydur® GS in the cost-benefit study. The key advantages of this material, such as weight savings, corrosion resistance and impact strength combined with a low tooling investment, are something that other materials cannot offer.
