The PUR system used at THIEME is made up of the two components:

polyol a mixture of polyols, activators, flame retardants, coloring agents, fillers isocyanate

The liquid starting components are conveyed to a mix head by means of a high-pressure pump metering unit. They are mixed in the correct ratio and metered into a closed, temperature-controlled mold.

The chemical reaction that takes place in the mold produces a stress-free structural molding from the raw materials mixture. Since a chemical reaction of the 2 raw componets takes place in the mold, the process is called Reaction Injection Molding.

In industrial production the two components are conveyed by pipeline to the foaming plants. Each foaming plant can be fitted with up to 20 mold carriers.
